Global Goals Model United Nations, Malaysia

On April 13 to April 16 , 2018 , 3 students of Insan Cendekia Madani went to Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia to follow the series of UN simulation meeting or better known as Model United Nations . They are Annisa Putri Zauhara , Majolika Syakira Devi , and Sekar Ayu Nur Fadillah . The event was attended by 370 delegates , the result of the selection of 4024 participants throughout Asia . This MUN has the theme of Sustainable Development , which is 17 goals with 169 measurable achievements and deadlines that have been determined by the UN as a development agenda for the benefit of the people and the earth . The event is divided into 7 Goals forums each led by Chairs and presenting 7 international speakers that will discuss 7 other forums . Ara represents the Estonian state , Majolika represents Peru in the Goals4 forum of quality education . Sekar represents the country of Cuba in its goals16 of peace , justice , and strong institutions . During the session in their respective forums , they represent the countries gained for discussion , negotiating with other delegates and arguing for resolution of problems occurring in their respective countries . They are required to be delegates assigned to a respective country. They get to know the position of their country in addressing the issues to be discussed . They are also required to write position papers that represent country positions and resolutions to be addressed about current issues to be discussed in the ongoing debate . 

In the forum that Ara and Majolika attended , there were 109 delegates represented by participants all over The world. As for the forum that sekar attended, there are 47 delegates from All over the world too. The participants are majority students and teachers. But , did not make them feel pessimistic . Instead , they are enthusiastic to express their opinions , seek new experiences , and make extensive connections with other Asian participants . As a young generation , they feel like they need to be familiar with global issues to contribute to the world . Remarkably , they qualify as participants through strict screening for 4000+ participants throughout Asia at this international event . So how ? We must be interested to follow the footsteps of our 3 friends!. This Model United Nations event can also improve our skills in diplomacy , practice writing skills , critical thinking, research and negotiation . Moreover , it can fill the experience in our portfolio to enter college . Messages for friends that might follow in : 1 . Age is not a weakness , show it as a boomerang for success 2 . Do not be afraid to fail in the competition. 3 . Never pessimistic to go ahead and work . 4 . Prayer , Prayer , Gratitude .
